Central African States
The Economic Community of the Central African States is a monetary union formed in 1972-73 with a goal to promote regional economic co-operation. It includes Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Gabon and (since 1985) Equatorial Guinea. Banknotes issued by Banque des États de l'Afrique Centrale prior to the 1993-94 series have different face designs and are listed under their particular country.
1993-1994 Series
Starting with this series, notes for all countries have the same design, and the first two digits of the serial number represent the date of issue. A printed branch code and bar code show which country they were issued for. See specialized collection of the Shepherd and Zebus note.
