French Guinea

Guinea is located on the West African coast and has been under French rule until it gained independence in 1958. From 1895, the territories within French West Africa used common bankotes issued by Banque du Senegal. In 1917, low denomination emergency notes were issued within each territory using the same design but different colors and local colony names overprinted.
