Marguerite Dreyfus
Marguerite Dreyfus, known as Rita, born Marguerite Angèle Bouchet on March 21, 1879 in Paris and died on November 6, 1942 in the same city, was a French printmaker.
Biography
Marguerite Bouchet married Pierre Dreyfus, a bookbinder, in Paris in 1904. She exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français starting in 1900, winning an honorable mention in 1903 and the Prix Jules-Robert in 1905. She was responsible for the engravings of many banknotes, and was one of the first woodcut engravers to work for the Institut Monétaire.
