Louis-Eugène Mouchon

Louis-Eugène Mouchon, born in Paris on August 30, 1843 and died in Montrouge on March 3, 1914, was a French medallist, banknote designer and engraver of postage stamps, in particular the Mouchon type series, which bears his name.

In 1903, based on a relief plate supplied by Oscar Roty depicting the Semeuse de la monnaie, he engraved the Semeuse.

He also engraved Serbian banknotes (10 dinars 1887).

He was named Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur on January 3, 1895.
