Ernest Florian

Ernest-Théophile Florian, born December 5, 1863 in Chez-le-Bart and died March 20, 1914 (aged 50) in Paris, was a Swiss engraver.

For his work, he received an honorable mention in 1890, followed by a silver medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition.

He was the brother of engraver Frédéric Florian (1858-1926): the two Florians worked for art publishers Édouard Pelletan and the magazine L'Image, among others.

Ernest engraved a series of banknotes for the Banque de l'Indochine on models designed by Henri Bellery-Desfontaines.
